Wasteland reclamation and the growing consumerism-driven waste production further exacerbate environmental degradation. In response, a framework of environmental legislation, such as the Environment Protection Act, Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, Wildlife Protection Act, and Forest Conservation Act, has been established to mitigate these impacts and promote sustainable practices.

However, enforcement of these laws presents numerous challenges, from regulatory loopholes to insufficient resources, making it imperative to strengthen legislative measures and public awareness to safeguard our environment effectively.
