What you'll learn

  1. Foundations of Environmental Law: Students learn about the historical development of environmental law, key legal principles such as the polluter-pays principle and the precautionary principle, and the role of international treaties, national legislation, and case law in shaping environmental policy.



  2. International Environmental Law: Students study international treaties, conventions, and agreements addressing global environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, marine pollution, and ozone depletion.


  3. National Environmental Law: Students learn about the legal frameworks for air and water quality, waste management, land use planning, environmental impact assessment, and endangered species protection, as well as the roles and responsibilities of government agencies, regulatory authorities, and enforcement agencies in enforcing environmental laws.



  4. Environmental Governance and Policy: Students examine the governance structures, policy-making processes, and decision-making mechanisms related to environmental management at local, national, and international levels.
