Introduction

It introduces the concept of cleaner technologies, focusing on the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) which facilitates sustainable projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) is another key topic, teaching students to assess the environmental impacts of products and processes from cradle to grave. The course delves into the concept and strategies of sustainable development, emphasizing the integration of economic, social, and environmental goals. It also covers Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), a crucial tool for evaluating the economic feasibility and environmental impact of projects. Special attention is given to environmental priorities in India, examining the country’s unique challenges and initiatives in the context of sustainable development.
