Introduction

The course on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) provides an in-depth understanding of the foundational aspects of environmental evaluation, emphasizing baseline information and predictive analysis for key environmental components such as land, water, air, and socio-economic factors. Students will explore the methodologies used to gather and interpret baseline data, which forms the basis for assessing the potential impacts of development projects. The course also covers restoration and rehabilitation technologies, equipping students with knowledge of techniques to restore and rehabilitate degraded environments. Additionally, the course introduces the principles and practices of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), highlighting their role in systematically managing and mitigating environmental impacts.
